But! Well, have you ever wondered what I look like? Because if you look up "procrastination" in the dictionary, you'll see my picture. And, last time I checked, I was credited with perfecting the art of professional procrastination. I was going to work on finding a way to get paid for it, but I kept putting it off....
ANYWAY. The moral of the story is, I haven't written a single word for any of the papers, but I spent the day making a nifty desktop background to use come November. It's suckage at its worst, because Raisin isn't very good with Corel Essentials (which is like a ghetto version of Photoshop), but it was super-fun to do.

Whoo! So yeah, someone else made a Twilight-related NaNo wallpaper that had a corkboard feel to it, and I thought that was neato so I adapted the theme for my own use.
All of the main characters are pictured here: Jaden, Luke, Taregan, Casey, Sophie, and Raine. The lady in the upper-right is not a main character, but she is mentioned in passing. Jaden is the one responsible for vandalizing her picture. He doesn't like her very much.
The sticky-notes should be self-explanatory: Aces Wild is the first novel I'll be working on, followed closely by Aces High. And then, my name, just because I thought it was important. In case I forget who I am or something.
The CALENDAR OF DOOM: Not sure how easy it is to see, but each day has the minimum total word count I should have achieved by that day. Eeecch. Then I made little notes for certain days - Nov 10 ("win NaNo"), Nov 15 ("finish AW"), Nov 20 ("personal best"), and Nov 30 ("finish AH"). The handwritten messages in red should speak for themselves. XD
a*sylum, an alt sex bar: This is the a-bar where all my characters hang out. I made a logo *points to upper-left* and a poster advertising the Open Mic Nights where Sophie reads her poetry and Casey performs stand up comedy.
Spiral Breath Yoga Studio: This is where Taregan works as a yoga instructor and meditation guide. Whoo.
Cake recipe: On the left-hand side, we see a recipe for "Crazy Chocolate Cake," and a picture of a cake that is certainly Crazy and may or may not be Chocolate. Believe it or not, cake is a major plot point, so I thought it would be fun to have a recipe and some cake. Because everyone loves cake, right?
Postcard: Between Raine and the Calendar of Doom is a postcard from somewhere in Ireland. Raine sent it to Jaden when she jetted off to Ireland. She travels a lot for her job, but she wants to keep in touch with her new-found friends, so this is how she keeps in touch.
Buttons: The three buttons are all asexual-related. The upside-down grayscale triangle is the asexual symbol. The lightbulb refers to my personal favorite asexual slogan, "unscrewed yet illuminating." And then I included the rainbow button because Jaden is an active member of the Queer community, and a discussion of asexuality's place in the LGBTQetc. rainbow figures heavily into Aces High.
Pushpins: I suck at drawing pushpins, okay? And the sticky-notes suck too, because I had to draw them by hand. u__u Gotta love copy-and-paste, amirite?
So, that's where my Saturday went. Ah, well. There's always tomorrow. I promise I'll do some actual work tomorrow. In between spazzing about my novel.
AND HOLY CRAP CAN WE TALK ABOUT NOW NANO IS LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY? Or, alternatively, we can talk about how I JUST REALIZED THIS. I MAY ACTUALLY DIE. THERE IS A GREAT POSSIBILITY THAT I WILL LITERALLY NOT SURVIVE THE MONTH.
AND NOW IT IS 1:45 AM AND I MUST SLEEP.
